celebration for the King’s birthday

December 5th is the King of Thailand’s birthday so there have been many events lately to celebrate this special day. This evening there was a concert at the ruins of the King’s palace, in the area of Lopburi that’s close to the train station (it’s kind of the downtown area). There was a full orchestra with some Thai singers as well. Occasionally there was some traditional Thai dancing, as you can see in the picture here (these ladies were wearing peacock costumes). They had also arranged the lighting to give a magical feel to the place – very pretty and a nice way to spend the evening. 🙂
