This lovely building could very well be my house in another 6 or so months. Some work needs to be done to it (ie. attach a bathroom and a kitchen; add screening in upstairs and add a third bedroom) but here it is. It is located in the village of Sop Soi, just 10-15 minutes outside of Mae Hong Son. One of the great things about this house is that it has a well on the propertity and the landlord has agreed to hook up a pump to it. The house has electricity AND mobile phone reception (which is needed since the house currently doesn’t have a land line, and the phone line into the village isn’t actually working at the moment). Look at all the space underneath where I could park my vehicle (that I don’t yet have) or hang a hammock (a suggestion from a fellow student at my language school). I think it definitely has potential.

In all honesty, I wasn’t altogether thrilled when I first saw the picture, but it’s growing on me thanks to the Lord changing my attitude, heart and eyesight. There have been many indications that the Lord wants Faye and I (and Lilli – a new team member) to live in Sop Soi and this may just be our house. Pray!!

  1. I think it’s pretty dang cool!!! just think of all the “under your house” parties you could have!!! How many people in the west could say that about their homes? Love you Beth!!!

  2. It looks lovely! I will pray that you will have peace about moving in if this is where the Lord wants you. If it is, remember that He is able to make it relly feel like “home”, in every sense of the word.

  3. Jess, you’re right. I hope you’ll be able to attend my first “under the house party”… Faye wants to hook up some hammocks, which seems like a really good idea too. Thanks for the encouragement and the prayers une amie. 🙂 Hope you are doing well in T.O.Hey Jennifer, that would be great to see you in Thailand if that works out.
