really, honestly and truly

“I didn’t know you were a Jane Austen fan. Not that it’s a surprise. I bet you read it every year. I bet you just love Mr. Darcy, and that your sentimental heart beats wildly at the thought that he and whatever her name is are really, honestly and truly going to end up together.” (Joe Fox talking with Kathleen Kelly as she waits in a cafe for ‘NY 152’ to show up; “You’ve Got Mail”)

Well they did. In case you were holding your breath, you can breathe a sigh of relief now. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet did end up together. And I must say that they book is far superior to any of the P&P movies I’ve seen. So if you haven’t had the chance to read it, I recommend it. It was nice to hear a bit more of what was going on in Elizabeth’s head, especially when Mr. Darcy ends up helping the Bennet family. I have to admit that my sentimental heart did beat wildly at the thought that Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth would really, honestly and truly end up together.

  1. I’ll have to read it sometime (I started it a million times in high school and couldn’t get into it but my tastes have changed since then!) Glad it ends happily!

  2. Have you seen “Bride and Prejudice”? It’s a outtake, Bollywood style movie of P&P. Musical too. Fun! I’m writing this from TO Pearson Air CAnada lounge. Thinking of you! I’m in the land of Tim’s and the Maple Leaf.

  3. I have seen “Bride and Prejudice” but somehow forgot about it when I was writing about P&P. The time I watched it, I was at my friends’ house and their young daughters were watching it with me and telling me which character they were in the movie. I think they let me be the equivalent of Jane (can’t remember her name in B&P) in the movie. And they were asking me all sorts of random, but funny questions about the film. 🙂Pearson airport eh? I don’t have a lot of good memories about that airport. But I’m sure things have improved from 12 years ago when I had stand-by flying nightmare experiences…Why are you in T.O. Jen?
