I don’t know why but ants were building a nest in one of our new flourescent lights. Why would that be a good place to build a nest? Why would the ants be interested in random spots on a wooden beam? Why do they love hanging out on a water pipe valve?

My friends who live in town went to bake some scones in their ‘cooker’ a few days ago. The wife turned the oven on and then looked inside (because she had found mouse droppings in there last week) and surprise surprise… There was a mother mouse and a nest and a nest full of baby mice. My friend grabbed their cat, opened the oven door once again and now there are no mice living in their oven.

I am thankful that I haven’t seen more bugs than I have already. And I’m thankful that I haven’t seen more of a particular kind (only in the kitchen so far). I’m also thankful to be able to sleep underneath my mosquito net (all tucked in around my bed) each night. I’m thankful that we will get at least one cat in the next month or so. I’m thankful too that although our mop is totally useless as a mop (the mop head keeps coming off), it has some bits of wire that will be very useful for attacking any snake that decides to invade our house. And I’m thankful that we now have a good Thai-yai knife that can be used to kill unwanted animals in our house. I am dead serious. I can’t tell you how I will manage to do this but if it has to be done, it has to be done.

  1. Beth, I am so proud of you!!! Seriously, loving the little fishes, killing animals…or at least talking about it! Some of your tastes really have changed!

I have tried to leave you a note on here many times, but it won’t let me…so, maybe that’s why you aren’t getting any comments.

  2. I’m not sure what’s going on with the comments thing. I haven’t been able to comment on other people’s blog since I changed to the Blogger Beta. I guess the bugs are being worked out.

    I love commenting fiends. 🙂 I’m glad you’ll be one Jess. 🙂

I wonder sometimes about these strange food cravings. Is there some vitamin that my body is deprived of that can be found in those little fried, crunchy fish? Is that why I want to eat them so much? Soon you’ll be asking yourself these same questions Jess. Just you wait. 🙂
